New Ulx GUI Idea!
« on: January 22, 2009, 07:54:08 pm »
-Gui consists of modules (EX: Player list, Ban List, Commands, Recent Commands,...)
-Only has one main gui for all functions.
-User selects what modules her/she wants on the gui, where, and size of the main gui.
-Authors can create different plugins which add more modules, as well as module templates so users can have
more options of where they can place their modules within the main gui.
-Sadly enough, I got the idea from myspace profile editor V2.0, but I really like the idea, and I think
   our community will as well.

*I have an idea on how to make everything, but I will need assistance on atleast one part, that is
making the selection screen for the position of the different modules. Basically you select a
template, then click the module you want to add, then click on the position on the template where
you want it to go. Basicaly the template would be a set of button that represent module positions
        and size.

Like the idea?

Interesting. So basic things like player selection and value input would be on the main gui and the rest would be mainly buttons?

-Yeah, kinda. I wish there was a way of showing the ideas for it that are in my head, but I'll have to work on something I guess to display it. Perhaps paint lol :D

::EDIT::
-Ok, I caved and went on to paint lol. This would be a simple template for module placement.

I'd have the command their list immediately, even before they click a user. Seems like a slight annoyance to have it pop up afterwards (maybe it's just me though?).

Otherwise, looks like you have the ball rolling on some good ideas.

     - Well, my logic ibehind this is, you can select multiple users and have a different command list open for each at the same time, so you could simultaneously execute the commands. Also, so this way it would be two modules in one reducing alot of clutter on a small template. I plan on doing the same thing with the bans, list comes up, you click the players for time and reason.

Nice Jay.
You get this going further and I think we're on the heels of our derma competitor.
I'm really starting to dislike overv the more I read. So far, all his projects in Gmod are just remakes, though yes, in some ways improved, of other projects. Admin mod. Spreadable fire.
The fact his text commands break all other chat scripts still bug me.
