Prayer request
« on: May 21, 2010, 07:25:52 pm »
Hi all.
Though I'd love to have the entire world praying for this, I'm not one to share much personal info with the public, so I'm posting this among our team.
Two weeks ago my uncle went to his Dr with excruciating sinus head pain. He's always had bad allergy and sinus this time of year, so it's possible it's been coming a long time, but he thought it was just normal yearly thing.

After CTI and MRI, tumors were found. Disintegrated nose cartilage and skull bone, close to pressing on his eye, somewhat pressing up into his brain.
TN Drs here sent him to specialists in Cincinatti that have experience with sinus.

Biopsy taken Tuesday have come up malignant. Further study will reveal what type, but my uncle (on dad's side) has a large tumor in the front area of his skull.

Please pray for the Drs/Nurses to find best treatment, pray for my family, pray for him. He's in his 60s, but has always been in good shape (until now).

Thanks.
Ryan

Ok, so, about 4 months ago after months of treatments that brought my uncle to the brink of sanity wondering if the "treatments were worse than the illness", the specialist drs gave 'no cancer found'.

All was well.
This month, 'activity' has been found in same areas, and new ones, as before.
Though we all dread, specialist currently states that the 'activity' may not be cancerous, but may be arthritis, infection, or other oddity of previous areas.

Just a heads up.
Personally, I'm scared. I can't imagine the thoughts my uncle has.
He's strong, accepted from the past his time here on earth may be short, and has no fear of physical death.
He realizes that doesn't make it easier on the ones still here who must wait our turn.

Still kickin...no new updates. Got to spend time at his place 2 weeks ago for early Christmas with my dad's side of the family.

Update;
Two weeks ago, after some sleepless nights due to his constant movement, some hallucination, and my aunt waking after a 2 hour nap to find him severely bruised as though he'd fallen; she took him to the hospital.
CTI found new tumor at back of his brain near motor control.
Vague details later, last Tuesday he had some surgery to install stint to release head pressure.
Feeding tubes installed (he fought every type of treatment, we believe, due to the pressure causing him to fight/hallucinate, he was never one to give up)
Sunday, I was contacted at 1030pm by dad.
My aunt through marriage, siblings, and other close family, decided to pull all cords assisting him, other than those that might help pain.

He passed away about 2pm Eastern today.
