Of course. There is no way we know to come home from a beach trip and not find sand buried in a towel, swim suit, some shoes or other item taken on the trip, no matter how many times you wash before getting home.

The day of hurricane Earl's storm surge high tide, Sheri and I went for a walk about 2 hours after.
We found some nice small shells.
Though the area in front of our condo only had a few big waves come up higher than normal, an area about quarter mile down the beach from us became a tidal pool for half a day.

It was quite impressive.
