ULX Web Management System
« on: October 04, 2013, 08:20:39 am »
I didn't want to put this concept in the public forum.
But, since i'm write this web managment I was wondering if you guys wanted any sort of analytic hooks in the system?
Number of running servers.
Total players.
Location of servers.
Server list... ect.

We could do some pretty neat stuff.

It's something I have debated doing in vanilla ULX, but I wouldn't be interested in it at the ULX-project level quite yet. Feel free to use it for your own purposes if you want to, just make sure you tell everyone you're doing it.

vanilla ULX?

I may incorporate it as an account level analytic service. So they can see what there server is doing and when. But yes, a disclaimer for the data that isn't already public record.

IP, players, map and response time is all public to begin with.
ULX logs, installed addons and those types of things are not.

I don't want to save RCon credentials. So for the more in depth stuff, I would require a server module that would actually push to me.
On that module I would have the notice.

Vanilla ULX as in ULX without any other ULX-addons.

I'd say you should notify even on the non-public information, just out of courtesy, but it's ultimately up to you.
