Back.
Had a blast. Wife's consult with knee Dr went well.
Sheri rode her first Ferris wheel (Navy pier)
We got to see
"The Bean" aka "Cloud Gate" (Pictures just don't do this 'art' justice. It's a sight to behold
Got to see "
American Gothic" (probably most parodied art piece ever), and many other works of art. I would have preferred museum of science and industry, but, we have to go back, will hopefully visit there.
We had our first 'real' Chicago deep dish pizza from "Lou Malnati's" (it was better than any deep dish pizza I've ever had, and we've been told there are contentions for two other "original" Chicago style we plan on visiting in the future (Gino's, and Gianni's)),
first 'chicago' hot dog,
Garret's popcorn,
and good italian meat sandwich from Portillos.
Not bad for 2.5 days.
Though not necessarily "chicago", had my first frog legs. Good food. Was prepared like scampi, didn't seem to fit the taste (yes, like chicken, but...better)
We think we've got 4 more visits to Chicago coming (Pre-op/Op left, post op/pre-op, op right, post-op).
For whatever crazy reason, she chose mid-January for start of all this. We've always wanted to get snowed in where we live, never have.
If you guys see record temps announced in Chicago/great lakes region come January, remember I predicted it. We bring opposite expected weather wherever we go.
OH... I also had a 'pre-screen' phone interview while in Dr's office waiting on Sheri.
Seemed to go well. We'll see.
hope you have one of those old Nokia phones where you move the cursor around with the arrow buttons.
Samsung Flip-phone actually, with a nice round arrow pad. a 1 x 2inch screen, and makes/takes calls much better than any 'smart' phone I've ever used.
It, for whatever reason, does have a low res 320x240 (I think) camera on it.

Work pays for my smartphone, so I don't play on it much, and prefer my personal phone only for talking.
