Our new server
« on: April 24, 2007, 09:45:20 pm »
If I'm to believe this output from /proc/cpuinfo, we have two CPUs! Which is odd because it never says anything about that on the site. But hey, I'll live with it!

Is there some way to verify this JamminR?

Nice. If it's true, we need to find something to use the dual processor power.

I've read where in some cases Hyper Threading enabled motherboards can make a single core/single CPU computer look like two processors.
Let me find a way to confirm for you.

Alas, as much as I'd like to say we have two CPUs at best, or two cores at the least, from this forum discussion , it seems we have one CPU with hyperthreading enabled.
See " Stuart Browne  Apr 6, 2006 23:19:52 GMT    Unassigned" little over half way down.

Meg, make sure we have a kernel that supports Hyperthreading. I've also seen where hyperthreading can cause apps to go slower than they should if the OS doesn't know how to handle it. App goes "hey, thread this!", OS goes "huh?"

Don't know if it supports HT, CentOS 4.4. Thanks JamminR!
