Just an update.
Would have done it sooner but I've been entertaining in-laws.
They were supposed to "help" while I was at work this last week (2nd week back from Chicago) but, well, as it probably turns out for most, Sheri said she felt like she had to end up taking care of her step-mom more than she got taken care of.
Her dad did get our hydri-garden started, and repaired our (cat's) screened in porch so the cats would stop escaping.
Sheri's first outpatient phys therapy session went well. She's at 4 degrees (of 0 target) straightened, and 108 bend (112 with assistance).
Considering target at 3 weeks (this coming Tuesday) is 10 straight, and 100 bend, she's doing pretty well.
She's officially off her cane around the house. Phys Therapist said to take it with us anywhere else we go.
All in all, we recommend if any of you ever have to have knee surgery, find a surgeon who does the outpatient method (Dr Berger of Chicago is one of several through out US)
We keep hearing from our phys therapist(s) that they see people 6 weeks out still on walkers that have had the 'old' "cut muscle and tendons through the front" method.
Dr Berger didn't totally invent the knee he uses, but I did find out he had a major input on it. Zimmer is the company that makes it, and she did get a 'gender' specific, another newer method.
He and his team also designed the process of pre-and-post treatment she's going through.
We go back for post-op and a pre-op next weekend-Tuesday.
Right knee is scheduled for mid-June.
