Blynx, a friend of mine, "volunteered" to make some logos for us. The requirements I put on him were to make it use our site theme, convey a sense of simplicity but utility, and have a tiny bit of flare. Given the rather vague requirements, I think he did pretty well. Here's the two he made:

On the bottom one I asked him to switch the text out and add a zoomed in fading out "Powered by ULib" that overflows a bit. I'm not sure it looks as good as it did in my head though.
He's offered to make whatever changes/improvements we ask, so if you want to see something tweaked, ask and I'll have him make a new draft.
