Simplicity vs configurability
« on: December 10, 2015, 04:19:51 pm »
Thought I'd run this by you all. We recently got the following feature request: https://github.com/TeamUlysses/ulx/issues/5

For this singular issue, I really don't care either way. However, I do think this makes a perfect case study of where we want to draw the line between simplicity and configurability.

Does anyone but this single user want to use this "feature"? He's probably the only one who cares. Is it an easy option to add? Yes. Is it worth making the configuration one line more complicated for this? I don't know.

Where should we draw this line?

When looking for logged issues regarding specific player or command events related to my admin mod or commands run on a server, I don't want to have to wade through hundreds of other server engine logs/errors (like that particular issue's mentioned precache errors)
That's my humble opinion.
