Don't see anything that's missing, seems pretty thorough!

Wow. Good monkey I mean Great job stick.
Now, can' you convert that to Lua? :P

I didn't take a look long enough for what might be missing, however, I strongly suggest some way of making tabs modular.
Some main tables or variables of some sort, at the least the skin/function tab additions.
I could imagine wanting to add some things to this (editing of Urestrict configs perhaps, almost definitely UTeam, etc)

Yes.. this is the main problem-- I figured It would have to be modular one way or another, otherwise we'd have to have many many menus. Not good. Actually, now that I think about it, even with my little lua knowledge, it shouldn't be too hard :P

As for a direct conversion-- nope, still have to code everything into a GUI, this just helps.. A TON. (Which would actually be a cool project, use windows forms to generate a derma skin-- NO, must concentrate)

So I guess I will begin work on adding modular tabs, then begin writing the default tabs! This should be fun.. I just fear how many times I'll want to recode this due to crappy lua X|

And now for an update at 3 AM! And I must say, I'm surprised!-- Lua isn't as bad as I thought it was-- at least so far..

I managed to get a script set up at "ulx\modules\cl" that ULX will load automatically (that's where it should be, right?) and will load any .lua files under "\ulx\modules\cl\gui_modules" (thanks to some VERY helpful code found in init.lua :P)

So then while I was writing a base module, I had to take a random guess and found out that lua can call functions through tables! That made my life a whole lot easier :D

Anyways, before I continue rambling on deliriously about discovering blatantly obvious things to you guys, all I have right now is a working module system with part of a first module built (just showing a list of players). I will keep on working on getting the GUI down, this might be a lot easier than I originally thought :D

Bah, the longer I sit here the weirder this is sounding, I'm gonna go to bed before I start spewing out any more random stuff-- Which is odd, because apparently 12-4 AM is when my brain is the most efficient.. That can't be healthy..

Yep, that's the place. Though if it's up to snuff, we'll include it in the main release.

Stick, we'll make a coding geek out of you yet.
Though I'm not sure now, my best times have been in the 10pm to 3am range, as long as I was up the by 9 or 10am on the 10pm start day. Something about my brain gets into a zone better, like the body says "I'm tired" but the brain says "fine, sit there, I've got work to do"
Eventually the body wins, and yes, forcing it is unfortunately unhealthy.

My problem is not really that I get tired (which is why I'm starting to get concerned, lol), but the fact is during the day for some reason I get easily easily distracted. I was working on this from 10-4 AM last night.. yet, between 2 and 4 I probably added more stuff than I've worked on the entire project  :o-- The other hours I was reading news articles, playing with my cat, etc.

Anyways, yes, I've been working (job, not this project) lately so progress is slow, however-- I will have a LOT of free time this week, so I'm hoping to get the majority of it done soon. One question for you guys-- would you like me to post code as I go? I realize my code probably isn't the most efficient, so I was wondering if you guys would like to check it as I go and give me pointers, or just let me finish it up and hopefully not get a huge barely-functioning mess :P

PS - Whoo! I figured out how umsgs work! I can find out a lot by looking at ULX and ULib's code :P

I never mind looking at code. Megiddo would be the one to really constructively critique it though; I'll let him decide.

I too am easily distracted.

Re Umsgs - They can be daunting at first.
Don't forget ULib's - ULib.umsgSend and ULib.umsgRcv

Put the code on github, it'd be a good exercise for you and would let us see the code on the spot. :)

Good job Stick!
Now, you and Jay should work together any more concepts you might have.
He's been threatening GUI for a while now.

First GUI design ideas. The two that are in-game are from what I started a while back. I don't have the script for it anymore, but it was very functional on my old server.

Jay, had a chance to look at Stickly's code and menus?
http://github.com/SticklyMan/xgui/tree/master

I've not had a chance yet (I _really_ need to install Gmod again... been months now)

I looked at the code, but haven't had a chance to test it yet.
