Hey guys,

Just wanted to throw this topic out there- We have a few "regulars" on our forums who provide regular (patient) support and contributions. We've had many people like this in the past, as well. I would like to come of with some ideas of ways we can thank them or at least acknowledge their help, which hopefully makes them feel warm and fuzzy and stick around longer.

Anyways, I've just been adding a few people on Steam and sending them a quick message. I'm not sure what else to suggest at the moment, but if you guys have any ideas, or more importantly, any individual members you'd like to spotlight, then post them here.

Timmy is one I'd like to spotlight- he doesn't hop on often, but he makes some decent releases and is always nice/helpful to others.

Maybe a forum rank? Recognition in the form of something that makes them stand out above their peers usually works.

We could have a forum rank (not sure what we could call it) but then if one of us felt someone deserved to be in that category we could nominate them in a thread in 'Team Chat' and the rest of us could weigh in.

Personally, I think it's a fun idea.

You're right, it would give those community members a sense of accomplishment and maybe even encourage other members to become more active and helpful in hopes of reaching it themselves.

I agree regarding a forum 'thanks' in some way.
I've 'complimented' some I like, but that just doesn't feel like enough to me.

Sorry for delay, been a crazy week. I like this idea, and I think a custom forum rank would be the best way to honor the member.

Timmy, Roastchicken, and Bytewave have all been recent folks who have provided patient support to others. Though we should probably limit ourselves to give out the honor once a month or so.

There doesn't seem to be any convincing reason why we should create a public thread announcing who we recognize... so perhaps we just PM the user and go ahead and change their rank?

Crazy week is an understatement. This may be a busy month for me...

I'm good with the Forum Rank- I've messaged Bytewave and Timmy as I mentioned before, and I did notice that they have been a little more active than usual. While public acknowledge may not be needed, I think a little bit of appreciation from us helps them stay motivated.

We've been learning of new shows and movies through another shared friend.
We don't have pay cable tv anymore, so miss lots of new shows on cable nets (USA, A&E, etc) that we might be interested in.
Just started watchin Colony. She loves the actor, show could be crap and she'd still make me watch. It's a good show though.
If anyone hasn't seen/heard of it, it reminds me ALOT of some of the Half Life 2 story line. Even has drones and alien overlords that we've not yet met, and humans who do their bidding (city 17 anyone?)

Back on topic  - so, are we rolling with creating a new group for the cool kids?
What to call it?
Or did I totally miss that we've already done it.

Hi Jay! Glad to hear you're doing well!

We haven't really done anything with the respected members idea just yet, although I do like all of the suggestions posted here. I've been insanely busy the past month and haven't even had much time to sit down and work on ULX related things.

I have noticed a bit more activity from Timmy, Bytewave, and Buzzkill, whom I've sent messages to. So that's encouraging!

I've been quite busy too I've updated the first post to include a list of the names mentioned so far. I'm sure there are more, I'll try and update the list as I have time to further pursue the forums over the next week.
